There are 3 types of Bubble coral Plerogyra Discus, Plerogyra Simplex and Plerogyra Sinousa
The Each type of Bubble coral is a beautiful addition to a reef tank. Finding a place with proper flow is key to keeping this Bubble Coral. The Bubble Coral comes from Shallow waters of the Indo Pacific. There are multiple colors available of this coral including Blue, Green, Cream, and Purple. At night the Bubble Coral will often extend it polyps often times filling in any gaps in the branching colony. Plerogyra Simplex differs from the Plerogyra sinousa by size of the head of coral. Plerogyra Simplex heads only get about 2 inches in Diameter while the Plerogyra Sinousa can get more than twice that size, both have a bubble shaped appearance but differ in size. The Plerogyra Discus has more of a petal like appearance.
